Basingstoke’s Emma Rosso releases latest single to raise funds for Christian Aid

Musician and songwriter Emma Rosso, whose music has aired on BBC Radio 2, is donating 50% of the proceeds of her latest single, 'Half The World Away', to international charity Christian Aid.
The 22-year-old independent singer-songwriter, who recently graduated from The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, started performing at a young age and has always had a passion for music.
She regularly performs in-and-around Basingstoke at venues including The Tea Bar and Café Vivo, and was due to play at Basingstoke Live, which has been cancelled.
Emma, who attended Brighton Hill secondary before studying music at Queen Mary’s College, said: “I hope my music can resonate with individuals in times of struggle and in good times. I also hope my music can connect with people of all faiths and none, by sharing the gift of an unconditional love.
“My music is very biographical, and ’Found Me’ – which was played on BBC Radio 2 - is an honest song about personal struggle. I felt lost, but found strength in my darkest hour through my faith.”
On making it onto BBC Radio 2, she added: “Being on a big-name radio station felt quite surreal and the idea that the message of my music was reaching so many listeners was amazing."
Christian Aid Week this year is raising money for poor and marginalised communities around the world who will be significantly impacted by the spread of coronavirus.
Emma continued: “I have always admired the work that Christian Aid has done and their ultimate aim to end a world with poverty. Everyone has been touched by the devastating effects of the coronavirus, but Christian Aid is helping the poorest countries with some of the weakest health systems in their response to this deadly disease.
“I believe we need to rise and make a change to help make the world a fairer place. I want to raise money for Christian Aid because I believe they will really help the lives of those half the world away.”
