Responding to the UN General Assembly voting in favour of implementing the International Court of Justice’s recent opinion calling Israel's occupation since 1967 unlawful, Christian Aid’s Head of Middle East Policy William Bell said:
“With tens of thousands of Palestinians killed in Gaza, the failure to end the cycles of violence across occupied Palestinian territory is clear for all to see.
“But this vote can be a step on the road to peace. There is now an obligation on the international community, including this new UK Government which disappointingly chose to abstain, to ensure international law is followed.”
