Christian Aid warns hard won humanitarian progress at risk from intensive Russian attacks

The international development agency, Christian Aid, says the latest Russian strike on a children's cancer hospital in Kyiv is a "heartbreaking" reminder that humanitarian help for Ukraine is at risk of being crushed by intensified missile attacks.

Christian Aid's Ukraine Senior Programme Officer, Ruth Platt, said: "Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion more than two years ago, we have been working flat out with our Ukrainian partners to provide emergency medical and other essential assistance.

"Thanks to the UK public, we have funded humanitarian programmes like mobile medical teams supporting frontline villages. It's heartbreaking for us, and those who donated so generously, to see those small gains under threat of falling apart as Russia intensifies its heartless attacks on civilian energy and medical facilities.

"Today's attacks are also a savage reminder of the risks our brave partners go through every day to ensure they can continue helping the most vulnerable. I know they won't give up and we must continue to do everything in our power to support them."
