Christian Aid response to International Development Committee report on UK SDG progress

Christian Aid shares concerns of the International Development Select Committee, highlighting problems in the UK’s progress on the Sustainable Development Goals.

Christian Aid’s Senior Inequalities Advisor, Nadia Saracini, said:

“The UK’s track record in helping some of the world’s poorest people is in danger of being weakened by its failure to live up to the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals. The SDGs are an important part of the process in helping millions of people out of poverty, both in the UK and overseas.  It’s vital that the incoming Government takes on board the Committee’s recommendations, gives overall oversight of SDG delivery to the Cabinet Office and actually tackles where they’re failing to meet the goals, rather than just trumpet the success.”
