Christian Aid response to G7 announcement on green growth

Responding to the expected announcement later today from Prime Minister Boris Johnson about G7 commitments on climate change and green growth, Pete Moorey, Christian Aid's Head of UK Advocacy said:

“The climate crisis is hitting the world’s poorest communities the hardest, so it’s right that the G7 commits to new investment in green infrastructure in the global south and meets their climate finance promises.

"What we now need is a clear plan to deliver and surpass the more than $20 billion shortfall in climate funding that rich countries promised poorer nations they would deliver by 2020. Developing countries expect to see these funding promises not only kept, but exceeded. We need a step change in the money delivered, if the COP26 summit later this year is going to be a success.”
