Katie Roxburgh, Christian Aid’s Programme Manager for Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory (IOPT), will be in Jerusalem and visiting the West Bank for 12 days from today (February 3rd).
She will be available for interviews while in the West Bank and East Jerusalem as she visits the international development agency’s local partners to see firsthand the support they’re providing. Her trip comes amidst increased attacks on Palestinian villages. Ahead of the trip, she said:
“While the eyes of the world are on the ceasefire in Gaza, West Bank Israeli settlers have been allowed to violently rampage Palestinian villages in the West Bank and one of Trump's first acts as president has been to revoke US sanctions against violent settlers.
“The Palestinian people need the support and solidarity of the international community now more than ever."
Christian Aid has been supporting human rights and legal groups in both Israel and the Occupied Territory for many years as they resist illegal attempts by settlers to destroy Palestinian homes and livelihoods.
Katie Roxburgh is responsible for overseeing and managing Christian Aid’s portfolio of development programme in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory (IOPT). She first went to IoPt in 2016 on a women’s exchange visit and has been working in the IoPt programme at CA since 2021.
Katie Roxburgh will be available for interviews while in Jerusalem and the West Bank from 2-14 February and on her return to the UK. For all media requests, please contact Peter Robertson on +44 780 174 1639 or email probertson@christian-aid.org
